Today was my 28 week midwife appointment. I wasn't really looking forward to it as I'd have to get up early and I knew this appointment meant blood tests! They had trouble getting blood last time so I was prepared for a lengthy and messy morning. I mentioned this to the midwife and she used a butterfly (??) and it was much quicker and easier. She used a vein on the side of my wrist which sticks out all the time. It was over in a few seconds and didn't hurt. Not that I'm that much of a wimp but I do work myself up worrying about it!
Anyway - she measured my blood pressure which was a little lower than normal and tested my urine - all was fine.
She then felt my tummy and measured it - 30 cm so a it bigger than normal but fine. Heard the heartbeat which was nice and then I was free to go.
I much preferred this midwife to the normal one.
Will post the 28 week photo later.
